Lego Challenge Night at the Carver Library

The Tuesday after a long weekend always feels strange. We still had errands to run after school, and we only got to see Arielle for a few hours – but still wanted to make it a memorable visit. We decided to try the Lego night at the library since it was close to her mom’s house and optimized our time with her instead of time in the car.

Jacen and Arielle weren’t too thrilled when we first walked in. There was only one other child, and it was practically silent. We gave it a chance though! As soon as the kids started digging through the totes of blocks their attitudes changed. They began pulling out special parts that they had never seen- odds and ends that I’m sure were originally from expensive kits and then donated. Jacen was particularly excited about a starwars windshield that he couldn’t wait to use.

We would definitely go back. It was an awesome filler activity for a school night!
