Walking around the factory is free! You’ll see it snow inside the Christmas room, demonstrations on making beeswax candles and so much more! For a price you can dip your hand or an ornament in wax or make your own jar candle. The kids made several ornaments averaging $3.99 a piece. Santa is available to meet year round. In the off season he is in the toy store. During Christmas he moves to the main lobby and is available for photos. The wait was 2 hours long, so we elected to skip it. Look online for events and features- today they were doing a Santa parade and free rides in a horse drawn carriage or on the train.

Home Depot does free kids workshops the first Saturday of each month. Supplies and instructions included! My kids are also really into collecting the pins you get from completing each project, and dressing up in their orange aprons!

I. Love. Barnes and Noble. We’ve had a blast at several of their free events, and tonight was no different. The kids listened to a reading of the Polar Express, had cookies and cocoa, did activities, met with Santa (after he arrived on a fire truck) and came home with jingle bells, ornaments, stationary for letters to Santa and activity worksheets- all free. I will definitely continue taking them to all of the events! I particularly love that their events are inclusive for all ages, and not only geared to the little ones!
