Celebrate fall and the resurgence of small craft brewers. The event features beer tasting from local and hyper-local breweries. Staff from each brewery are on hand to answer questions about their beers and brewing processes, plus you can indulge in fare from local food trucks while you enjoy your drinks in an autumn biergarten at the largest public garden in southern New England! Visitors can also enjoy backyard games and activities, watch a home brewing demonstration, and learn the differences between beer styles in a “Beer Styles Decoded” talk lead by Cisco Brewers.

Tasting Tickets: $35 Members; $40 Non-Members. Price includes museum admission. Must be 21+ to taste beers and valid ID is required to enter the event.

The first and foremost thing I have to say about King Richard’s is that my kids genuine had an amazing day. A close second is that I spent more in a few hours at the Faire than I did in an entire day at Disney World.

Even with out AAA discount, it was about $100 for admission- which includes nothing but the shows.. and all the actors in the shows ask for cash tips. Every ride and game is cash only. Food and drinks can only be bought with food tickets. Food tickets must be bought in increments of $5, but the food is sold in increments of $4, so you will always lose money. This was extremely difficult with Anna. Their strict no outside food/drink policy didn’t allow us to bring in snacks for her, but there is nothing sold at the Faire appropriate for a 10 monther.

Shows are free. The kids especially loved knight school, the jousting and the big cats show.

Souvenirs are astronomical. The artisans at the Faire take their craft very seriously, and the die hard fans will spend the money- it just wasn’t in our budget. I had a woman look me dead in the eye and with complete seriousness say, “you could buy your daughter a cheaper pair of elf ears, but they’d only last her a year or two. These are going to last her for life.” My daughter is 9. There aren’t a lot of elf ear appropriate opportunities for us, and chances are we would lose one of the ears before we even got back to our car- but I can totally understand an enthusiastic cosplayer finding the value in them.

The best values in our opinions were the wax hands for $10, archery 12 arrows for $5 and the souvenir stand next to the big cats show. (Stuffed animals start at $10)

For our family it’s not an everyday expense, probably not even an every year one- but it was a great day. Do it at least once. Save up and plan ahead. It’ll be worth it.

Hey everyone! I know we’ve been a little MIA this summer, but things have been super crazy. My son Jacen has suffered for a long time with a connective tissue disorder. We found out this summer that this includes the connective tissue in his heart and GI tract. We’ve gotten very familiar with Boston Children’s Hospital, and have to give them a shout out for some top of the line care- especially our amazing nurses and the outstanding child life specialists.

Thankfully things are settling down into a new normal for us. The baby is standing, walking, and getting into trouble. Jacen is adjusting well to his new schedule and school. Arielle is sassy as ever, and a total bad-ass. (Don’t tell her I said that- as much as I admire her strength I do try to get her to tone down the attitude every once in a while… but I do strongly believe she is, in fact, a total bad-ass.)

I’m most excited to share an event being hosted by US! 10/14 at 11:00 I am organizing a local moms meet-up. It’s completely free and an opportunity for both moms and kids to make some new friends. It will be held at the Lukey Community Park (the old Weweantic Playground) on the corner of Hathaway st and 5th ave in Wareham. I am so, over the top ecstatic and I really hope for a solid turnout.

We’ve recently discovered an AMAZING princess party company. Ever After Events is originally based in the Pittsburgh area, and has branched out to Boston. We give them the highest recommendation if you’re in need of a princess for a day!

For the twentieth year we will have our event on the third Sunday of September, Sept 16 this year with a rain date of Sept. 23 from 1 until 4 Pm. Pride day is an afternoon of Free Family Fun for everyone. We provide all guests with free food, balloons, face painting, magic show, exotic animal show, petting Zoo, Professional Wrestling and much more. We only ask all guests to bring 2 to 3 cans of food to be donated to the Raynham Food Basket to help the needy in Raynham. Our event is held in the Gazebo Park across from the Raynham Lions Club at 2234 King Philip Street in Raynham.

Join us for our biggest event of the year! We have our 27th annual Harvest Fair & Joe Davies Folk Festival taking place on Saturday, September 15th and Sunday, September 16th. We have two days packed with music and fun family activities including live reptiles, trick horse shows, tractor displays, hay rides, local craft vendors, farm animals and don’t forget all the delicious food!
